Bio Journal is designed with privacy as a core principle. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the App.
By using Bio Journal, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Data You Enter
Bio Journal stores only the information you explicitly enter into the App, such as:
- Journal entries
- Health and wellness logs (e.g., intake, voiding, leaks)
- Mood logs, tracking metrics, or similar data
- Tags, categories, reminders, and goals
- App settings and preferences
You control all content you create. We do not collect personal identifiers, analytics, advertising data, or background tracking data.
1.2 Location (Optional)
If you tap "Get Location" and grant permission, the App may attach a location tag to an entry. Location is used only when you request it.
1.3 Device Information (Minimal)
The App may collect basic device information (e.g., device model, OS version) solely for stability, performance, and crash diagnostics (only if you opt in through Apple).
We do not use advertising identifiers, fingerprinting, or analytics SDKs.
2. How Your Data Is Stored
2.1 Local Device Storage Only
All data is stored locally on your device using secure native storage (e.g., SwiftData). Bio Journal does not use any external servers or databases.
This means:
- We do not transmit your data off your device
- We do not access, view, or process your data on our servers
- Your entries never leave your device unless you manually export or share them
2.2 Backups (Your Device Only)
Your data may be included in device backups if you use Apple's standard backup system (iTunes/Finder or iCloud device backups). We do not control or access these backups.
3. Third-Party Services
Bio Journal does not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties.
Optional system-level integrations include:
- Apple Health (if you grant permission)
- Apple WeatherKit (for displaying local weather context)
- Location Services (if you request location tagging)
We do not use advertising networks, behavioral analytics, third-party SDKs, or cloud storage services.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use information only for:
- Saving and displaying your entries
- Providing App functionality
- Customizing your settings and themes
- Debugging and support (anonymous when possible)
Your private content is never used for marketing, profiling, or advertising.
5. Your Control Over Data
You may at any time:
- Add, edit, or delete entries
- Export your data (PDF, CSV, or other supported formats)
- Delete the App (removes all locally stored data)
Because we run no servers, your data remains entirely under your control.
6. Children's Privacy
Bio Journal is not intended for children under 13 (or minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
7. Medical Disclaimer
Bio Journal is a personal wellness tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent health conditions. Consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical guidance.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in features or requirements. When we make changes, we will notify users within the App or on our website.
Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

10.1 Your Privacy Rights (GDPR)
If you reside in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have the right to:
- Access the data stored inside the App
- Correct or update your information
- Delete your data at any time
- Export/port your data (e.g., PDF or CSV)
- Withdraw consent for optional features such as Location or Health integrations
Since all data is kept on your device only, you exercise these rights directly in the App or through your device settings.

10.2 CCPA / CPRA (California Residents)

You may delete your data at any time by deleting entries or uninstalling the App.
